Julie Rehemtulla, President, CAN-med Healthcare

Julie joined I.M.P. in 1983 and worked in the Aviation Division of the company in a number of capacities until 1992, when she was placed in charge of Corporate Administration - Head Office and Properites Division.  In 1998, Julie returned to the Aviation Division as Vice President, Aviation Services.  In 1999, she was appointed Executive Vice President & COO, Hotels & Properties - Corporate, with responsiblities for all hotels under the I.M.P. umbrella.  Julie was later appointed Executive Vice President & COO, Commercial Division, in 2001, and moved to CANJet Airlines in April 2002.  In 2007, Julie returned to the Corporate Office as Senior Vice President, Human Resources. In 2010, that role expanded to include, in addition to Human Resources, Strategic Procurement, Properties and Hotels as Senior Vice President, Corporate Services.  In 2011, Julie was appointed President, CAN-med Healthcare, which in addition to CAN-med Healthcare also conducts business under Harding Medical Supplies, MEDIchair and Dental Source Canada providing medical/surgical and health imaging supplies and equipment; mobility equipment and dental supplies. 

Julie graduated from Saint Mary's University with a BA in 1983, and an EMBA in 1997.  She currently sits on the Sobey School of Business Advisory Board of Saint Mary's University and is a past Board of Director of the Halifax Chamber of Commerce.

John Bonnell, Vice President - Development & Relations

John has been involved in CAN-med Healthcare’s operation since the company’s inception in 1974. After completing his MBA in 1980, he joined the company on a full-time basis and has since held various positions covering most operating areas of the company. Following the acquisition of CAN-med in 1989, he undertook the responsibilty for all of IMP Group's healthcare enterprises. Upon assuming his current role as Vice President of Development & Relations, John is responsible for evaluating business opportunities and realizing their full potential through the development and maintenance of effective key relationships.

Stephen McDonald, Vice President & General Manager

With CAN-med Healthcare for over 30 years, Stephen has progressed through a number of different roles, including Materials Manager, Operations Manager, General Manager, and VP Operations before assuming his current role as Vice-President and General Manager in 2011.  Stephen is responsible nationally for the day-to-day sales and operations of all healthcare business units within the CAN-med portfolio.

Matt Favaro, CA, Vice President Operations

Matt is responsible for providing operational direction and support to all healthcare business units within the CAN-med Healthcare group. Matt joined CAN-med in 2007 as Controller and progressed to the Director of Finance role before assuming his current role as Vice President of Operations in 2011.  He began his career at Ernst & Young in Ottawa where he obtained his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation through the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants.  Matt brings a combined operational and financial expertise from numerous industry sectors.

Amanda Hynes, B.Comm, CGA, Director of Finance

Amanda Hynes is a proven manager who has been key to the success of the financial and administrative operations of CAN-med Healthcare since she joined the team in 2008 as Controller.  In her current role as Director of Finance, which commenced in April 2011, she is responsible for the financial management of all business units within CAN-med.

Amanda obtained a CGA designation in 2004 from the CGA Association of New Brunswick. Prior to joining CAN-med, she held various positions with Maritime Travel and McCain Foods. She uses her past experiences to strengthen the financial management and operation of CAN-med and understands the value of strong leadership to the overall success of the organization.

Jim Ritcey, Director, Sales & Marketing, Medical/Surgical

Jim Ritcey is responsible for Sales and Marketing for CAN-med Healthcare's Acute Care and Long Term Care markets. Jim joined CAN-med Healthcare in August 2011 following a 30 year career in healthcare distribution in both sales and management roles with several market leaders, most recently Olympus/ACMI. He has helped introduce and pioneer many new products to healthcare providers across Canada. Jim’s level of contacts and industry expertise enables CAN-med to further focus our efforts on meeting the changing future of our industry, as we strive to deliver the best products and services to our customers.

Dan Coffey, Manager, Sales and Marketing, Primary Care/Dental Source Canada

Dan Coffey is responsible for Sales & Marketing for CAN-med Healthcare’s professional care business segments, focusing on both our dental business (Dental Source Canada) as well as CAN-med’s primary care business (physicians, clinics, surgical centres). Dan first started as a distribution sales representative with CAN-med Healthcare in the late 1980's, followed by a 12 year term with 3M Health Care in both sales and marketing capacities. Following 3M, he oversaw a national distributor’s expansion efforts into the non-hospital market. In 2004, Dan changed industries and spent the next 7 years in telecommunications as senior marketing strategist responsible for market & customer research, competitive intelligence and strategic business planning and execution.

Pat Artinoff, National Sales Manager, Health Imaging

Patrick A. Artinoff is the National Sales Director for the Health Imaging business of CAN-med Healthcare. Based in our Mississauga office, he is responsible nationally for the sales, service and marketing functions of our Health Imaging business. Pat has 18 years experience in the healthcare information technology and diagnostic imaging markets. Fluently bilingual, he has a proven track record of sales leadership having spent the years prior to joining CAN-med with such organizations as Agfa Healthcare and Toshiba Medical Systems in Canada.

Blake Scott, General Manager, Home Medical Equipment Division

Blake Scott is the General Manager of the Home Medical Equipment Division of CAN-med Healthcare operating under the Harding Medical Brand in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island and the MEDIchair brand in Nova Scotia.  Based in Moncton, he is responsible for sales, service and marketing functions of our Home Medical Equipment business.  Blake has over 20 years experience in the Durable Medical Equipment and Home Medical Equipment sales and service markets.
