John has been involved in CAN-med Healthcare’s operation since the company’s inception in 1974. After completing his MBA in 1980, he joined the company on a full-time basis and has since held various positions covering most operating areas of the company. John was appointed General Manager in 1987, and following the acquisition of CAN-med Surgical in 1989, was appointed Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer where he has responsibility for all of the corporation’s healthcare enterprises.
With CAN-med Healthcare for over 29 years, Stephen has progressed through a number of different roles, including Materials Manager, Operations Manager and General Manager, before assuming his current role as Vice-President of Operations in 2008. Stephen is responsible nationally for the day-to-day operations of all CAN-med locations, and provides operational direction and support to all healthcare business units within the CAN-med portfolio.
Matt is responsible for the financial management functions of all healthcare business units within the CAN-med Healthcare group. Matt joined CAN-med in 2007 as Controller before assuming his current role as Director of Finance in 2008. He began his career at Ernst & Young in Ottawa where he obtained his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation through the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants. With his experience and education, Matt brings financial expertise from numerous industry sectors spanning both private and public accounting.
Don is responsible for all CAN-med sales & marketing initiatives for medical-surgical in Atlantic Canada. He has over 40 years experience in various areas of the healthcare delivery system, including 10 years working in a hospital, 3 of which at the department head level. Don further broadened his expertise by working as an Account Manager and then Regional Manager for a major medical products manufacturer before spending the last 23 years in sales management with medical products distribution companies, most of them in his current role at CAN-med Healthcare.
As Business Unit Manager, Karyn’s responsibilities include sales leadership for our Ontario and Western Canada medical-surgical sales team, as well as managing and growing our Philips Medical business. A graduate of Saint Mary's University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1985 and a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1990, Karyn’s expertise in this field is second to none. Prior to joining CAN-med Healthcare she spent the last 17 years of her career with an internationally-recognized manufacturer of innovative medical diagnostic equipment, therapeutic devices and patient monitoring systems where, in addition to successfully managing her territory, Karyn had responsibility for national marketing programs, women’s health initiatives and Canadian university medical school sales.
Patrick A. Artinoff is the National Sales Director for the Health Imaging business of CAN-med Healthcare. Based in our Mississauga office, he is responsible nationally for the sales, service and marketing functions of our Health Imaging business. Pat has 18 years experience in the healthcare information technology and diagnostic imaging markets. Fluently bilingual, he has a proven track record of sales leadership having spent the years prior to joining CAN-med with such organizations as Agfa Healthcare and Toshiba Medical Systems in Canada.
